What I’m Using the GoFundMe For

Dear friends, family, and supporters:

I would like to sincerely thank Susan for starting the Give Youth Sports Back to Our Teens campaign! She is most generous and marvelous! I am grateful for her efforts to support my return to graduate school. Thank you Susan!

It is true that I am “passionate about improving youth sports girls, and decreasing the risks for rowing related injuries [for all teens and those who row at any age].”

It is also true that “young women [and all human-beings] can become competitive and compassionate!” In fact, here is a profound example of how the most competitive people can also be the most compassionate!

Note: For those who did not know Ayrton Senna, he was one of the most intense, competitive racing drivers of all time and yet he was also compassionate with deep spiritual connection and faith. This is proof that we all can learn compassionate-competitiveness!

Quick Background: I met Susan at Community Rowing years ago when she became part of the sculling community. Susan volunteered her time and efforts to help CRI for years.

Some might remember Love Circle Circuit Training. Susan was one of our star members! We worked out hard and shared swell camaraderie! What I did not know then, was Susan had recently battled and survived a precarious Cancer! At age 72 she beat cancer! She is still sculling strong! Go Susan!

Please consider making a donation! Help me pay for tuition at UNH and support my ambitious aims:

a) Perform novel rowing research within Biomechanics to identify asymmetrical movement in rowers with intent to clarify injury risk mechanisms in lumbo-pelvic / hip anatomy.

b) Improve the youth sports experience, particularly for adolescent girls & women in rowing.

c) Improve dissemination and application of evidence-based movement training and fitness conditioning for rowers and rowing.

d) To halt growing injury rates, reduce rehabilitation time, and coerce the coaching community to develop age-appropriate, whole-person, youth sport philosophy for girls and women in rowing.

In loving-kindness & gratitude,
Coach Bode
